3 Layer Felt
At Consolidated Roofing we only use high performance Axter(BP) Callender(shell) torch on felts. We ensure the materials used for laying a flat roof are consistent and are made by thesame company, therefore ensuring the products workas a system.
We use a 180(1.8) grade underlay, which is laid loosely to allow movement, a 250(2.5mm) 2nd layer and a 450(4.5mm) top sheet with mineral chippings for a protection finish.
Once the Consolidated Roofing Team gets to work we will:
- Prepare the roof.
- Lay the first, nailed, layer of underlay felt. This layer is not bonded to the decking so that the decking can move without damaging the felt roof.
- Lay the second, bonded, layer of underlay felt.
- Install any gutter drips.
- Lay the top bonded layer of top sheet felt.
- Install any verge edge and edging to a vertical wall and flashing.
- The finishing touches.
- Ensure the client is completely satisfied and remove and dispose of all waste in an appropriate manner.
