Tiling

More and more people are turning to tiling as a cost effective alternative for both new build and refurbishment projects. Our tradesmen use many different types of tiles, both concrete and clay, on a regular basis. Some of our tradesman are tiling specialists, having trained predominantly in the installation of concrete and clay tiles.

When installed correctly Natural Clay tiles are a beautiful addition to almost any roof. Clay has proven itself to be one of earths' most versatile materials. It's natural durability means that natural clay tiles often outlast their concrete counterparts time and time again. A great deal of our clay tile work involves the use of reclaimed tiles, which have been removed from an existing roof and are suitable to be re-installed onto a new roof. This technique of reclaiming clay tiles is particularly useful when trying to match a new roof with an existing one. People often comment and how seamlessly they integrate with the existing tiles.

Concrete tiles are a cost effective alternative to clay and are available in many different sizes, profiles and colours. Because of their relative low cost, concrete tiles are becoming very popular with house builders and developers. They are particularly useful on large residential or office developments because of their size, relative ease of use and low cost compared with natural materials.

We install many thousands of clay and concrete tiles each year and in order to stay abreast of the latest developments we regularly invest in training and support for our installers to ensure they remain familiar with the changes in legislation and techniques.

If you are having a new roof your choice of tiles is important, we can provide brochures of the latest colours and addresses and previous projects. We only use the 3 layered fleece under slating felt; making vents a thing of the past, 25mm x50mm tanilised battens providing more strength and longer life expectancy. We can also help with tile choice so your home doesn’t look out of place and is in keeping with the rest of the street.
